The Bump and Run: College Football Top 25 Wrap Up

In this weekly segment, I will quickly sum up each of the past weekend's College Football games featuring Top 25 teams.

#1 Florida 62 - Charleston Southern 3
Comments: Truly cowardly scheduling by the defending champs. After all, everyone knows Charleston Northern is a much tougher team.

#2 Texas 59 - LA Monroe 20
Comments: Texas running back Cody Johnson carries the ball 11 times for a scant 27 yards...but scores 3 TDs. He could be the next LenDale White!

#3 Oklahoma 13 - #20 BYU 14
Comments: Did anyone hear that Sam Bradford hurt his shoulder?? I hope he has Aflac.

#4 USC 56 - San Jose St. 3
Comments: True Freshman QB Matt Barkely leads the men of Troy to victory in his first start. Seriously, let's just give him the Heisman right now.

#5 Alabama 34 - #7 Virgina Tech 24
Comments: Don't let the score of this one fool you, Alabama's offense outgains the Hokies 498-155.

# 6 Ohio St. 31 - Navy 27
Comments: Ohio St. narrowly escapes becoming a bigger joke than they already are. Will have to settle for taking a beating at the hands of the Trojans next week.

#8 Ole Miss 45 - Memphis 14
Comments: Bust a Nutt! Jevan Snead and the Rebels maul the Tigers thanks to 28 4th quarter points.

#9 Oklahoma St. 24- #13 Georgia 10
Comments: No Matt Stafford and no Knowshon Moreno means no offense for the Bulldogs. Meanwhile, Ok St. coach Mike Gundy, now 42, wants everyone to know that he is still a man, and to come after him when necessary.

#9 Penn St. 31- Akron 7
Comments: QB Daryll Clark leads the way with 353 yards passing. 82 year old Joe Paterno returns to coaching on the sidelines, forgets where he is at one point, and

#11 LSU 31 - Washington 23
Comments: Ok, is LSU that bad, or did Washington really improve that much after firing Ty Willingham? Wouldn't be the first team that did I guess.

#12 Cal 52 - Maryland 13
Comments: "you're the best! AROUND! Nothing's ever gonna keep you down!" Running back Jahvid Best must listen to Joe Esposito to get pumped up before games, as he rushes for 137 yards and 2 touchdowns...on only 10 carries!

#14 Oregon 8 - #16 Boise St. 19
Comments: In the 2010 media guide for the Oregon Ducks, it will sum up this game as, "A hard fought loss to nationally respected opponent. Also, nothing bad happened afterwards."

#15 Georgia Tech 37 - Jacksonville St. 17
Comments: I've heard of running back committees before but this is just ridiculous! The Yellow Jackets use 12 different runners to rush for 335 yards in this one.

#
18 Florida St. 34 - Miami 38
Comments: In perhaps the most exciting game of the weekend, the Miami Hurricanes are able to knock off their old rivals in a shoot-out. Miami QB Jacory Harris outduels FSU QB Christian Ponder, passing for 386 yards.

#19 Utah 35 - Utah St. 17
Comments: Utah wins it's 15th straight game. It amazes me that they're only ranked 19 going into the season.

#21 UNC 40 - Citadel 6
Comments: Former Irish recruiting targe Greg Little is back at WR, catches a TD in this one.

#22 Iowa 17 - Northern Iowa 16
Comments: Hawkeyes win the game, but won't stay in the Top 25 after this lackluster opponent.

#23 Notre Dame 35 -Nevada 0
Comments: I don't know who eats more babies, Michael Floyd or Manti Te'o.

#24 Nebraska 49 - FAU 3
Comments: The Huskers are too much for the "Fightin Schnellenbergers". FAU turns the ball over 3 times to Nebraska's one.

#25 Kansas 49 - N. Colorado 3
Comments: Jayhawks wave the wheat and the bears suffer defeat. Todd Reesing throws two touchdowns.

Eating Cheeseburgers: #17 TCU.

Notre Dame Opponent Watch: Michigan 31 - Western Michigan 7
Comments: What did you expect, they practice 12 hours a week!
